What is Cyclox?

Public campaigns

Media events and actions designed to have an impact on public consciousness and to encourage people to reduce car use and to cycle (or walk / get the bus) instead. Since Cyclox's launch in August 2003, we have had regular and positive coverage on local TV, radio and in the press.

Campaigns on specific cycling difficulties

Our campaigns are aimed at Oxfordshire County Council (which controls most of the roads in the city). Cyclox is lobbying the Council for satisfactory solutions.

Cyclox's focus in the first half of 2006 is a "20's Plenty!" campaign, seeking a reduction in vehicle speeds to 20 mph on many narrow or busy roads to make cycling safer. And much more – keep in touch to find out what we’re up to.

For more info about Cyclox, read this: Cyclox flyer Feb 05. Download the flyer and distribute it in your workplace to encourage cycling! To find out more come to the next Cyclox public meeting on the first Wednesday of every month - 7.00 p.m. East Oxford Community Centre (44b Princes St, on the corner of Cowley Rd and Princes St)
